GAMING INFLUENCERS BRING THE DRAMA IN LAUNCH HERO CONTENT

 

YouTubers recount their favourite Halo war stories in the style of a history documentary, evoking nostalgia in the old guard, and FOMO in the new.

Published to YouTube and Facebook to kick off social call to action and announce title launch event.

ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY ON SOCIAL

 

Xbox UK's Facebook page and the game's pre-order website invited fans to share their own Halo stories for the chance to attend a special launch event and win other goodies.

THEN THINGS GOT "BORDERLINE WEIRD"

 

The campaign tapped into an incredible seam of nostalgia. Over 1,500 gamers posted personal stories across Facebook and YouTube.


Including tattoos. A scary number of tattoos.

ENTER A NEW GENERATION AT THE HALOFEST ESPORTS TOURNAMENT

 

Veteran stars of our film then challenged all-comers in a competitive Halo multiplayer championship played on location in London and live-streamed online.

FANS STAR IN THEIR OWN MINI DOCUMENTARIES

A video booth at the experiential gave fans the chance to record their own versions of our hero content for social, with the best also featuring on Xbox owned channels.

HOW DID IT DO?​

Hero content viewed 405,969 times.
More than 1,500 unique Halo memory posts, 8,200 Facebook Likes and 946 shares.

In its debut week, Halo: The Master Chief Collection set a record for the biggest launch of any Xbox One exclusive title, selling 1,093,755 units in seven days.
